About Herold Commercial Valuation Services
Douglas A. Herold, MAI (Principal/Owner) has more than 32 years of experience in the appraisal profession. After graduating from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in real estate, Mr. Herold immediately began working as an appraiser. In his first position as an associate with RTA Group, Mr. Herold’s high levels of ethics and integrity, along with his strong work ethic, quickly earned him a reputation with both his clients and peers for having the ability to provide some of the highest-quality appraisals in the region. Throughout his career Mr. Herold has been employed as an associate at RTA Group, a Director at Integra Realty Resources Pittsburgh, a Senior Vice President at Newmark Valuation and Advisory Services, and most recently, an Executive Vice President at White Realty Advisors.

Mr. Herold has been a state certified general appraiser in the State of Pennsylvania (License Number: GA001265L) since 1994. He has also held the prestigious MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute since 2003. Appraisal Institute designated members represent the highest standard in the real property valuation profession. The MAI designation is awarded only to an elite few members of the organization after completing a rigorous battery of education, experience review, demonstration report writing, and comprehensive examination. Mr. Herold has also served as President of the Pittsburgh Chapter of Appraisal Institute in 2012 and twice as a Member of the Board of Directors.

Since he began his career in 1991, Mr. Herold has completed appraisals of thousands of commercial properties throughout Western Pennsylvania, some of which can be viewed here. Mr. Herold's extensive experience and background has put him in a position to provide the best quality appraisal services in the Pittsburgh region.

In addition to his appraisal work, Mr. Herold has completed numerous market rent studies for prominent local and regional developers and many corporations. Mr. Herold has also been accepted and recognized as an expert witness by courts in Allegheny, Washington, Beaver, Butler, Westmoreland, Indiana, Blair, Centre, and Erie Counties.
